This policy explains what Dispatch collects when you read the site or subscribe, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do about it.
What we collect
If you subscribe. Your email address, and the name you give us if you choose to give one. This is stored so we can send you the posts you asked for and let you sign in to manage your subscription.
If you only read. Standard web-server records: IP address, browser and operating system, the pages requested and the time of the request. These are used to keep the site running and to detect abuse.
We do not collect payment card details ourselves. If paid subscriptions are enabled, card data is handled by the payment processor and never reaches our servers.
Cookies
We set a small number of cookies that are necessary for the site to work — keeping you signed in, remembering your theme preference, and protecting forms from abuse. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Newsletters may record whether a message was delivered and opened, and which links were followed. This is used to understand which stories are read and to stop sending to addresses that bounce. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link that takes effect immediately.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data and we do not share it for advertising. We use a small number of processors to run the publication — hosting, email delivery and, where applicable, payment processing — and they may only handle your data to provide that service to us.
We disclose data to a public authority only where we are legally required to, and we will tell you when we are permitted to do so.
How long we keep it
Subscriber records are kept while your subscription is active, and removed within 30 days of you unsubscribing and asking for deletion. Server logs are retained for a short operational period and then discarded.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can unsubscribe at any time without asking us first. To make any of these requests, email enquiry@themeanax.com from the address you subscribed with.
Children
Dispatch is written for a professional audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will say so on this page and, for subscribers, by email. The date below records the last revision.
